Navigating the Emotions of Motherhood
Becoming a mother changes everything: your body, relationships, and sense of self. And while there is joy, there can also be sadness, fear, anger, anxiety, and an exhaustion that runs deep. Whether you’re navigating the highs and lows of trying to conceive, pregnancy, postpartum, or early parenting, we walk beside you with compassion and understanding. You don’t have to wait until you’re “in crisis” to reach out. Early support can make all the difference, and healing is always possible.

Lori Burns-Galdenzi
LCSW
Education/Experience
Lori Burns-Galdenzi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience supporting women and children. She previously worked in the Fetal Care Center and Perinatal Care Program at Yale New Haven Hospital, where she gained extensive experience in birth trauma, infertility, and perinatal (anticipatory) grief and loss.
Lori currently serves on the Board of Hope After Loss and facilitates a grief and loss support group for an agency in Trumbull, Connecticut.
As a mother of two young adult children, Lori has also faced secondary infertility. Her decision to specialize in grief and loss was deeply influenced by a serious illness that once affected her own child. She finds deep purpose in helping others navigate some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
Outside of her professional work, Lori enjoys boating, traveling, lifelong learning, and—most of all—spending quality time with her family.

Marissa Burke
LCSW
Education/Experience
Marissa Burke understands that the word “mom,” while often associated with joy, can also come with a wave of overwhelming emotions. With over 15 years of experience supporting individuals through all stages of life, Marissa specializes in brief psychotherapy—a short-term, solution-focused approach—and crisis intervention. She works with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, and postpartum-related concerns.
Outside of her professional work, Marissa enjoys spending time outdoors in warm weather, going for walks and swimming, and being with her children, dog, and partner.
